What keeps me playing

Hello,

the thing that keeps me playing this game is not loot, well at least not mainly. The thing that keeps me playing, specifically playing the endgame, is getting toasted by the game, checking my build, telling me my build is not good enough, losing exp because of it (oh yes, especially that), then going through the mechanics of the game optimizing my build and checking new nodes, skills, support skills, item combinations, tools available to me in order to progress again and then on my way of changing my build, trying new things, actually venturing along new paths and making discoveries, like: "I go fire damage with my Smith of Kitava, so I should maybe use Infernal Cry, but I already have Herald of Ash, so maybe that would be overkill, but I could make use of the empowered attacks and replace Herald of Ash if I focus on that" and then delving deeper into the mechanics and possibilites.

Just a little bit of honest feedback there.

Yeah optimizing you character is the best part of any arpg. But the people who want the game to become easier and want all things that can kill you removed from the game will tell you just wear all white gear if you want a challenge.

So you want me to not utilize the best part of the game so you can have an idle game you can play while having a youtube video opened on your second monitor. I mean come on. Make games great again

Yeah, but please keep in mind this game is probably not optimized and thus there might be very valid criticisms to make about a lack of options in this context for you to be able to progress and use exactly this, what you call the best part of an ARPG.

But other than that I totally agree with you.

Dude, just stop jumping into every single thread to fight your imaginary enemies.

Who's those "people" you taking about? Are they in the room with us? Can you write A SINGLE response anywhere without attacking some perceived opposition like a child throwing a temper tantrum?

Why would anyone want PoE 2 to be easier? This game is neither hard nor challenging to begin with.

So far, this "feedback thread" is saying "ARPG mechanics in an ARPG game are good". Award-worthy feedback.

So? Removing XP penalties doesn't make the game easier, just less tedious.

Less tedious seems to be a synonym for easier. But let's keep on topic please.

Okay, so by your own logic, you want to make the game easier as well? A little bit hypocritical, isn't it?

Wouldn't that make it harder? But anyway, please stay on topic.
There is no "on topic". You made a post about absolutely nothing, as you just mentioned what you like about the game. That is not feedback. That is not grounds for discussion. And if you don't want people disagreeing, don't post on a forum.

How would skipping the campaign make the game harder anyway? It would remove a lot of potential progression blockers and immediately allow you to optimize farming for maximum experience gain. That's easier, not harder.
