My problem with that statement is they clearly didn't reproduce the suck when they buffed lightning spear. Honestly it seems like the lead devs are butting heads when making changes. This might be an instance of too many cooks in the kitchen.
lightning spear build works like it should be. other builds not

I agree with the post, the game feels extremely terrible. It's a disaster

And this is exactly what is happenning right now, community is screaming
We are a very tiny minority. 90% of players won't ever read a forum, let alone post something. Just because you see a lot of negativity on the forums, it doesn't mean most of the players are unhappy.
If you're enjoying something, you are not likely going to make a topic about it. And when you look into the topics, even then the conversation is very back and forth, so you can't even say the majority of people posting here are unhappy.

Forum isn't a good indicator but steam reviews is. I'm yet to see a good game getting mostly negative unless like it has AI generated assets and got review bombed because of it.

Stream reviews for every good review (either positive or negative) feel like they are drowned out by a bunch of crap reviews.

I don't know about all this. I played the game last "season" and got characters up to T15. I started with the new one and have characters in the 70s so far. My progression doesn't feel very different this time. It took less time and effort because I knew what I was doing, and I didn't have to stop and level like I did with a few bosses the first time through. Maybe I got unlucky the first time or lucky the second or some combination of the two--the thing is, with like 5 characters worth of data, my personal observations are meaningless.
The devs have access to player data that we can't see from overhead, so they're in a position to analyze trends that any individual players really can't. They *shouldn't* immediately respond to a storm of player complaints if they haven't replicated them or sussed them out; that would be a crazy way to approach game design.
And I suspect that the people on this forum are being overly dramatic, because there are a lot of threads decrying the collapse of this game (which is still in early access, by the way) and how long it takes to fix problems (this game is like 4 months old, by the way) and how the campaign is unplayable. It's not that I don't believe those things, it's that I don't believe those things *can be true*. People just love being outraged.
This is a hard game. This is an unfinished game with a lot of problems. Some of the nerfs have probably gone too far. I wouldn't dream of telling anyone that those things weren't true. But I think the community response to how feedback and game development work is a little bit hyperbolic these days.
