What are people talking about?
I keep hearing people say 'White mobs take FOREVER to kill!" But they....don't? Like it takes a couple of seconds guys calm down.

" Yeah im pretty confused as well. I'm in a2 cruel currently, and everything has been pretty easy playing ed/contagion. People making claims of 200+ mobs coming at them at the same time, when the most i have seen on the screen at once is maybe like 30. People making claims that jamanra took them 40+ minutes per attempt, and i killed him on the very first try (which to be fair im not sure how, but with ~40% light res he just didn't hit that hard). I'm hearing similar stories from people playing bleed builds- very smooth gameplay, nothing terribly difficult yet, and then you come on here and people are saying bleed builds all suck. It seems that a few of us lucky individuals actually downloaded a different patch, labelled "fun easy mode", while all the people crying managed to download the "ggg hates us and made the game too hard and tedious for me" patch |

Same here.
The new start in fresh league seems more easier. Compared to December play-through in early access league: - Maps look smaller and emptier (with less mob density); - Bosses have less hp (fights get really short); - Drop rates of "currency" (orbs) feel increased; Started tomorrow. Currently playing in SSF mode, Spears (Huntress), end of the 1st Act Last edited by SAV2PAR#0884 on Apr 6, 2025, 4:22:01 AM

It depends on your choice of character and your choice of damage skill.
Jamanra is resistant against Lightning and Fire, while being weak to Cold. Every character should be able to change their skill to a cold skill. If such a change was enough, then I could understand what all the fuzz was about. However Jamanra comes with a very high health pool. Meaning, it would really be best, if you not only had a Cold skill, but also some power behind it which exceeds support skills. By that I mean gear (preferably a weapon with extra cold damage to support the cold damage skill) and some passive nodes. But in act 2, you do not have enough gold to casually respec your passives into full damage and on top of that, not all classes are far along in the passive tree to have meaningful choices boosting cold damage. Take the Mercenary, who has good Lightning damage nodes, but no cold nodes. The second problem in act2 is your lack of loot and resources to shift your buiild to another element because a boss requires it. If this was a boss gatekeeping higher tiers of the atlas, then shifting your build to another element would be easy. But as it stands, that is not the case in act 2. Are we done yet? Not at all. Jamanra also has a phase during which he puts the player in a sandstorm, which limits his movement options, while being swarmed by enemies. Meaning, you also need a solution for that problem, i.e. some AoE clear. Which is at odds with high single target damage requirements of the boss, but at least something a player should have because the maps leading up to the boss demand it. The final way for Jamanra to drag out the fight are his abilities. He has very few openings and plenty of phases during which you can only roll out of the way of stuff. A player is unlikely to unleash a meaningful full combo. If you need to stand still to deal damage, you will not be able to stand still for long, as from the start Jamanra will at least toss a spear at you every two seconds. Mechanically, Jamanra is not a difficult boss when it comes to avoiding his attacks. It boils down to a numbers game. He is a boss with 200k health (guesstimate) hitting players who have around 200-400dps if they have the same level as the boss and depending on their build. This already means, the fight will be between 8 and 15 minutes long from those facts alone. YOu then add the fact that you will be trying to avoid damage at least half the time not doing damage and you can see why this fight can drag out for a long time. Naturally, if you hit this boss on your second character, with all the legendary items toys for leveling, you will just eat this boss alive no doubt. But when it comes to the new player experience or season starts, then this boss needs a design pass or two. or ten. |

" and we are also playing and not seeing this. At least in the campaign (most of us did a fresh start). I finished just 1 act (I work on saturday) but until now all white mobs died in at most 3 BASIC spear throws. I know in act 2 there are some monsters with way more HP, but lets see ... |

" Yup exactly like that. My experience until now matches in NOTHING the rants. I had an EASIER league start than the previous one. Did only one act.. but did not die a single time and took less time than my first playtrough in previous league. |
