Trial of Sekhemas Floor 3 Boss Ashar: Traps have patterns!
" We've all heard this and ignored it. All guides and youtube videos about the 3rd floor boss tell you to avoid the traps at all cost and run around while Ashar creates more and more quicksand pools that slow you (which can be deadly) and clutter the arena (which can be deadly). All guides tell you to ignore the mechanic and instead get some extra levels/dps to quickly end this fight. What if you could identify the scarabs trap platform? Killing a few scarabs along the way can be beneficial (build charges). For me it is much easier than the quicksand mechanic. You just need to identify that particular platform... they have patterns (open image in new tab to get higher resolution): ![]() The PoE2 wiki https://www.poe2wiki.net/wiki/Ashar,_the_Sand_Mother stated this and I've tested it after the fight. Open question: do all scarab traps have this exact pattern? Probably this can be tested during floor three as well. Unfortunately, I've killed Ashar on top of the darts trap and its hardly visible. Could someone else confirm? :) Last bumped on Apr 27, 2025, 2:01:38 AM

I didn't know this, thank you for the good tip!
I'll have to try this out when I go for my 4th ascendancy trial later :o |

whoever designed that boss is clearly a sadist, and not a fan of the warrior class.
quicksand puddles are near invisible as they are almost identical to the ground they are being placed on... chaos damage so that even the smallest hit takes off 500 honor... untargetable for 60-70% of the time and then when he is you are forced to dodge the entire time until he becomes untargetable again... this boss is the opposite of fun. really sick of the untargetable bosses. Napuatzi or whatever the viper lady also spending more time untargetable than targetable makes for an awfully frustrating and tedious fight. |

Guys, stop complaining about the boss - read my original post. If anyone else can confirm the trap types with a screenshot after finishing the boss, that would be great :) I would completely change strategy and always jump on the scarabs platform.
