failed to connect to achievement server

In addition to all of the other truly awful connections issues that have become even more abundant recently, today I was "disconnected from the server" twice after "failed to connect to achievement server". (Why do you even have to have an extra achievement server?) If I weren't playing ruthless, it would be simply incredibly annoying -- since players lose not only their time and everything else gained along the way, but also the map they spent in creating the instance -- but as it is, it makes the player think twice before even attempting to play.
