PoE 2’s progression issues, summed up in 4 sentences
Loot on the ground sucks, so the only exciting drops are orbs. Those orbs give you a 1/100 chance of rolling a decent item, so you’re better off hoarding currency and trading for the gear you want.
But the trade system sucks, so you’re gonna spend countless hours on a shitty web browser interface whispering bots to gear up. Nothing about any of what I just said could be considered fun. Last edited by Blasphemous84#2190 on Apr 20, 2025, 5:50:43 PM Last bumped on Apr 20, 2025, 8:31:48 PM

How do you know the loot on the ground sucks if you don't pick it up?
Trade system for currency is nice, need one for gear. I have been getting some good drops for gear, even more so since the last update. |

i think looting and upgrading is very fun. in fact im having a blast and cant understand why people want to go back to alteration or essence spamming items.
during my 4 hcssf playthroughs i found upgrades very often and only had problems upgrading from very good to almost bis items in ssf. (this can def be improved) the addition of recombinators was a great idea and it works very well for early and mid maps. getting gear to clear t15 maps is very easy now. are you sure that you have been using those systems to get your desired upgrades? most players in poe1 that i knew never even attepted crafting in poe1 and didnt try in poe2 either. |

" From what do you talking about? Ground loot is trash. I pick up every item with desired base in ssf and there is worst garbage. Which system should we use? The whole campain upgrades are from vendors and hoping for acceptable exalted slam. And in mapping stages it's the same. You do map after map with no upgrades. Crafting? With what? With essences? Basicly you find a base item and slam orbs hoping for useable mod in every slam step. If not move to trash. |

" I have played PoE 2 for over 300 hours and I have picked up damn near everything. In that time I’ve looted less than a handful of bonafide upgrades that didn’t require outrageous RNG with orbs. |

" SSF here, so not going to address any of your comments about trade, but: I've been saying since the campaign that almost everything good I'm using is from vendors. I'm in mid-tier maps now and I just upgraded my shield. From a vendor. It is item level 32. I'll say that again: My character is nearly level 80, I just bought an upgrade from the vendor that's ilevel 32. I have picked up every rare and magic shield thus far. RNG gonna RNG I guess, but wow. My gear is a mix of vendor bought (rare or crafted from magic to rare), one piece from an expedition vendor and only a couple drops. I pick up all magic armour, shields and jewelry, magic weapons I can use, and all rares. So yeah, maybe buff drops or nerf shops I guess? |
