Xbox targeting needs some love

Boss fights are so frustrating because I'm trying to stay away from damage and use my ranged skills, but if I'm too far away my spears just go off screen and don't target the boss? I know some of this maybe accuracy? but it's the only enemy on the screen, it should hit the boss? Any thoughts? Thanks.

Yup! They have made some improvements to it, but it still has a bit to go. I agree with you.

You can use the right stick for explicit targetting. This is really useful for when you roll out of the auto-aim circle of enactability, or you've loaded Barrage or similar and want to hit the elite and not a worthless goon.

But I agree as a mechanic it sucks over PC players who can just mouse over the target effortlessly. Most of the attack skills are loaded on the four buttons above the stick and it's near impossible to aim the stick and then press one of them without screwing the aim.
its also a problem of autotargeting. it also need some love.

on pc just mouseover and finish the fight.

on xbox:
1) if someone spawn adds the autotarget go to white mobs. Even if you stay next to the boss
2) in the trial the stones (adds) spawn a wall it change to the wall (even behind you)
3) ballista totems kill everything, but touch rare mobs as last target. (would be better if they target the nearest)
4) maybe loot is a Problem of this too. You can only Loot if you kill everything, even useless things like far away monster or walls. sometimes you want just loot/open boxes/open doors, because its a time problem (breech or delirium) and not clear all screen. poe 1 let you do this in combat
