BUILD:

https://poe2.ninja/profile/character/z7g7bnzs6gel/Fanthy-1614/GettingAWinToday

IN SHORT:

-Arc is the main source of damage
-35% Slow aura around your (4m radius)
-Spam temporal rift to go back full mana and full ES
-Orb of storm shocks and crit for additionnal damage
-Mana tempest gives heavy clear + decent mono target boost
-Chaos innoculation

LEVELING:

During leveling I switched to arc in act 2 but I would recommand staying frostbomb/fire wall/Fire ball until you unlock mana tempest in act 3

COMBOS:

Do those combos until you're oom then press temporal rift to go back full mana

Small pack: Mana Tempest > Arc

Medium pack: Orb > Mana Tempest > Arc

Medium pack + rare : Conductivity > Orb > Mana Tempest > Arc

Big pack + rare / Boss fight: Sigil of power > Conductivity > Orb > Mana Tempest > Arc

ITEMIZATION:

Around lvl 75-80 you should get Chaos innoculation and be able to spend 50 ex into:

+7 lighting spell/mana/extra lightning damage staff
+3 spell level amulet with mana
High energy shield with mana helmet/gloves/boots and high energy shield body armor
Mana and lightning damage or cast speed rings with element resistances.

WEAPON SWAP TRICK FOR 13sec TIME FREEZE:

It will probably be nerfed in the comming updates because it seems way too strong but you can still stack Skill Effect Duration to affect Time Freeze:

Equip the Unique shield Arvil's Wheel Hardwood Targe in your weapon set n°2 and get all those nodes in your Weapon set Points n°2. Don't forget to swap to weapon set n°2 before casting Time freeze as you can't make it autoswap to set n°2.

Enjoy and feel free to suggest improvement and ask any question

This is the axis I've been going. Very similar except I'm using the right side of the tree for all the crit support. I'm also using CoC, CoS, AND Mana Remnants with Mysticism (via a Scepeter and Chest with Spirit)

Footprints in the Sand is so key to the build because I can clear my mana and reset on bosses.

Heres my build: https://poe2.ninja/profile/character/kimgscy64d31/Davitas-3533/EthicalTireGout

Please note its very glass cannon/proof of concept right now.

Do you proc CoC and CoS often? I had CoS in my first video without any tree points to improve it and it occured 1 time in an entire map... Having to equip a sceptre instead of a +7 lightning spell staff seems really nerfing.
And have you tried putting unleash on arc instead of considered casting?

The amount of damage of your passive tree seems a bit higher than mine but at the cost of 300% increased max ES, 50% cast speed and 70% stun treshold of max ES which could be decisive for late game content.

Since my first video I replaced my useless CoS with Blasphemy supported with temporal chains and mysticism for a total of slow aura of 35% and more dmg while full ES. I also went for CI after getting better gear: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zzBF2eU8yTo

Yes I do proc them often. CoS procs much more on rares and bosses. You can sort of ignore it on whites but that doesn’t matter because they die anyway usually to one hit.

I don’t have a +7 staff so for me it ended up being better than what I had. Scepter has a lot of other benefits such as being able to slot on Blink. You mention all of your defenses which I largely take less of because of Blink mobility.

Keep in mind when comparing our builds my gear is not great. It’s pretty budget that I slapped together with what I had laying around to see if the build can function. At some point I would go the same direction where I wouldn’t need as much damage as I have and scale some back for serviceability. I wouldn’t call it a trade off, I would just call it different stages in the builds evolution.

Not particularly helpful since we are trying to make Arc work. Spark and Arc have different pros and cons. I wouldn’t say it’s just objectively “better.”

I just did on a +75% monster hp boss map and mono DPS seems around 3x lower while mapping is also slower because you go oom faster and have to spam temporal rift more often. It may be better with a crit build rather than this cast speed one.
Arc also clears faster in cluttered maps with the split from mana tempest and base chain of the spell compared to sparks relying on bouncing off terrain the right way.

Added a video of t4 Xesth and an itemization section.
Was playing basically the same build. Early maps, with 5-10ex each item gear, were kinda a struggle. Constant mana management wasn’t fun at all. Switched to a staff with Lightning Bolt to use it instead of Arc and it’s soo much better, at least at ~8 tier maps ~75 level. Immediately halved the time needed to complete the map and tripled enjoyment.

I bought a lightning bolt staff to try it out and dps is around 1.5 to 2 times lower in single target:

I don't know what your issue is when mapping but there is no way a single target spell that doesn't chain and doesn't even benefit from the split of Mana Tempest is faster than arc.
With your basic combo: orb>mana tempest>arc until oom; you should be able to 1 shot the screen then temporal rift to go back full mana or get enough mana flask charges to continue without even needing to temporal rift.
I can easily believe that damage will fall off to unacceptable in comparison to Arc in an actual endgame 15+ maps, 90+ level, Pinnacle Bosses. Not arguing that at all. I just report on a levelling option for this build, that works for me.

Mana Tempest shouldn’t work with Lighting Bolt without Arch Mage. I didn’t expect it to work. But, I think it does. Dps in gem panel goes from 18k to 30k for me. And it feels that way in gameplay.

My basic combo is Orb (x2 if needed) - mana tempest.. and it basically cleans the screen already. At this point I can spam lighting bolt if needed for a few seconds, not even aiming correctly half of the time and move on with, key point, full mana without any extra steps. No mana management means no mistakes. Arc can be as fast or faster, but I constantly make mistakes with mana and waste time. Mind over Matter makes way more sense, 30% more damage from Zenith support is nice. Same combo for bosses with Time Freeze in the beginning of a fight. They either die before they unfreeze or in the next few seconds being stunned. No danger at all. So at this point ~10ex staff works, will it work later, I’ll find out. And if you say it won’t, I believe you.
