Early league prices question from newbie

Hi! I am new to poe, as I started on PoE2 and loved it! I played until level 91 and got the gist of some things, not others, but this is my first league "restart/start".

I got an unique that I traded for 1 div and some exalts, and my question is, is it better to trade early on exalts, or divs? Are prices of uniques high early on and then fall (unless its like a chase unique) so its better so sell soon?

I would love some insight form people with experience in PoE1! General tips and your experience, as I feel a bit loss in trade early league right now due to this event.
